The Arasinda (means: „between”) was formed by Hungarian musicians in Budapest in 1996. In Central Europe, they uniquely play authentic Turkish folk music and its arrangements. In their two-hour long concert program, songs from each regions of Turkey and songs from parts of the whole former ottoman empire are to be heard. These very popular songs are performed in Turkish with the special Turkish singing techniques. |

The accompainment is played with authentic Turkish instruments (saz bağlama, oud, kaval, zurna, davul etc.) but also with instruments of other folks and modern instruments (daf, gadulka, oboe, violin, guitar, bass guitar etc.). In one hand, the unmistakable sound of the Arasinda comes from Turkish folk music. In the other hand, it comes from the personal improvisation style of the musicians. |

| In 2002, they came out with their first album: Aşkın şarabı („The wine of love”). The second Ne olursan ol ("Whoever you are") was released in July. The full title of the superb second album is “Whoever you are, come again!”. They have heard the call, and came out with 14 beautiful songs. The genuineness and spirit of the recordings are enhanced by the Turkish contributors: Selma Öleş, Zümrüt Öleş and Mehmet Erdem. On this album, the original instrumental playing techniques, the vocal parts and the beauty of the Turkish language - which is in most cases very similar to the Hungarian - have more sophisticated effects. | |
